Do's And Don'ts In Ballroom Dancing Part 7

Do's and Don'ts for the man:

On the dance floor, the man is the boss.  He must set the pace for his partner, navigate a proper course around the floor, choose the step patterns, and ballroom dance in time with the music.  At the same time, he is expected to indicate to his partner where he is heading and what he wants her to do.

Obviously then, to be a good leader, you must first of all be able to dance through ballroom dance lessons; that is, you must develop a working knowledge of the steps and patterns.  Knowing the steps, however, is only half of the responsibility.  You must also be able to communicate your intentions to your partner quickly, subtly, and effectively.
