Ballroom Dances We Teach Part 9


Merengue:

This is considered a Cuban interpretation dance.  Just imagine how wonderful it is going to be when you have the confidence to get out on the dance floor completely relaxed and look natural regardless of how many people are watching your ballroom dancing.

Merengue is the native dance of the Dominican Republic.  It is a lively Latin dance done with a slight limp.  It is very easy to learn and a lot of fun to do with the Latin march-sounding music called Merengue.  The fourth beat is syncopated.  There is a drum roll on the 4 and 8 beats in Merengue music.
